Cozad Middle School Dance this Friday! The CMS Dance, sponsored by SMASH, will be held on Friday, November 14th from 7:00–8:30 PM in the Cozad Middle School Commons. CMS students only. Bring items for the Paper Product Drive and earn double points! It’s going to be a fun night, Haymakers!

Cozad Community Veterans Day Program--Join us on Tuesday, November 11th at 10:00 a.m. in The Barn for our annual Veterans Day Program. We invite the community to come together as we honor and celebrate the brave men and women who have served our country.

Good Luck, CMS Haymakers! Our 7th Grade Girls Basketball team is headed to Gothenburg for their Jamboree, and our 8th Grade Girls Basketball team is competing in North Platte — both tipping off at 9:30 AM! Play hard, have fun, and show that Haymaker spirit!

On November 6th, the Cozad High School Junior Class traveled to Lincoln to tour the University of Nebraska–Lincoln City Campus. During the visit, students met with a UNL representative who shared valuable information about the importance of higher education, the benefits of earning a college degree, admission requirements, and available FAFSA and scholarship opportunities. Afterward, the juniors enjoyed a guided campus tour and wrapped up their visit with a delicious buffet-style lunch in one of the campus dining halls.

A huge thank-you to EducationQuest for making this experience possible through our College Access Grant, which Mrs. Rossell and Mrs. Haarberg applied for. This grant helps provide our students with valuable opportunities to explore college campuses and prepare for their future!

National Honor Society Food Drive Update! The CHS National Honor Society is adding a special addition to this year’s annual food drive! To help members of our community who are struggling, certain items will be worth double points and will be delivered to the food pantry EARLY.

The High School Winter Sports Parents Meeting will be held on Monday, November 10th at 6:30 pm in the new gym. This meeting is for CHS athletes and parents of students participating in a winter sport. Please plan to attend!

It’s National School Psychologist Week! This week we celebrate Ms. Bethany Hyatt, our amazing School Psychologist! Ms. Hyatt plays a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional success of our students. Her care, expertise, and dedication make a positive difference every day at Cozad Community Schools. Thank you, Ms. Hyatt, for all that you do for our students, staff, and families!

CEEC October Kind Kids! Five years ago, the Cozad Early Education Center began the Kind Kids Campaign to help create a positive learning environment and encourage students to treat others with kindness. Each month, teachers recognize students who go above and beyond showing the Kind Kids way. Since the campaign began, the Cozad Volunteer Fire Department has proudly presented the October awards in honor of Fire Safety Awareness Month — a time when our students also visit the fire station!

A big thank you to Lindsay Wells and Trevor Munster for representing the CVFD and presenting this month’s awards. Congratulations to our October Kind Kids: Isabella Ayala, Calman Smith, Khloe Stithem, Hendrix Wagnon, Ashlyn Westfall, and Sylvie Munster!

Elementary HAL (high ability learner) students met for another fun session of High Gear Haymakers today! Students learned about polymers and how different ingredients work together. They then had to collaboratively problem solve to try to create a bouncy ball. Students were recognized for their efforts in teamwork!

Congratulations to the newest members of the Cozad High School National Honor Society! We are proud to recognize Ethan Atchison, Josie Bowers, Braedon Groteluschen, Eh Hser, Rebeca Htoo, Myles Ide, Talyn Propp, and Kellen Shoemaker, who were inducted into the CHS NHS Chapter on Thursday, October 23rd.

These students have shown excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement!
