Students that are planning to take the September ACT need to register for the test by August 4th. If you receive free and reduced lunches please contact Mrs. Haarberg for a waiver for the exam. Please note that all CHS Juniors are required to take the ACT in the Spring with Cozad High School as our state test. This is a free test for all juniors.

Update on MS New Student/6th Grade Orientation: Due to a time conflict, the New student/parent orientation for all 6th grade students and students new to the Middle School will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 10th in the HS/MS Auditorium. (The previous time stated 6:00 pm)
The High School Fall Sports Parents Meeting will take place July 31st at 7:00 pm in the HS auditorium. This is for all fall athletes in grades 9-12. It's expected that both athletes and parents attend this meeting.

CMS Reminders for the beginning of the school year: New student/parent orientation for all 6th grade students and students new to the Middle School will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 10th in the HS/MS Auditorium. Students and parents will have a short presentation and will receive a packet of information with your class schedules and will also be able to tour the school and get into their lockers.
All 7th and 8th grade students can pick up their schedules and go to their lockers on Friday, August 11th or Monday, August 14th between 8 am and Noon and 1 pm and 3 pm. The first day of school will be Tuesday, August 15th.
Reminder: If you are a 7th grade student you MUST have a physical and all immunizations MUST be up to date, before the first day of school. All 8th graders playing sports are also required to have a physical prior to participation. We are looking forward to seeing everyone and having a great school year!

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the Cozad Community Schools Board of Education, District 11 of Dawson County, Nebraska will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, July
17, 2023, at the Office of the Superintendent, 1910 Meridian Avenue, Cozad, Nebraska, which meeting will be open to the public. The regular board meeting will include the holding of a public hearing to discuss, consider and receive input on the student fee policy and the parental involvement policy. The agenda for this board meeting, which shall be kept continually current, is readily available for public inspection at the superintendent of school’s office
during normal business hours.

Jumpstart Elementary Summer School 2023 starts on July 17th! To avoid confusion, kindly refrain from bringing or calling to enroll your child if their name was not already on the list this last spring. Summer School 2023 classes are full and we are unable to sign up any more students at this time. If your child is unable to attend, please email amber.ross@cozadschools.net. Cozad Community Schools is hiring a Paraprofessional for the 2023-2024 school year. The primary responsibilities for this position would be to monitor and help supervise a high school classroom where students will be learning via Distance Learning (DL). The certified teacher will be connecting to the classroom via live distance learning. The role of the Paraeducator in this classroom would be to help monitor and help supervise the students during their DL classes, as well as, communicating daily with the teacher who will be teaching and delivering instruction from the remote site.
Paraeducators are required to have a High School Diploma or GED and must pass a Para Assessment or have the minimum amount of college credit. Paraeducators work closely with the teacher in their assigned classrooms and support them in their duties. Tasks may change depending on the needs of the students. Ideal candidates have strong communication skills, show compassion, and are dedicated to the students’ success. This full-time opening is a 9 month, 35 hours per week position to begin in August. Benefits include district paid single health, dental & vision insurance.
