📕⽴📕 AUTHOR VISIT at Cozad Elementary on Friday 📕⽴📕
In celebration of Dot Day, Cozad Elementary Grades K-2 students and staff were given presentations by Author Bruce Arant which included "Story Sequencing" for 2nd Graders (Students exercised their creativity in creating new paths to an existing story, by imagining their own versions of First, Next, Then, Last), and Kindergartners and 1st Graders partook in a "Storyboarding Workshop" in which students had a hands-on experience at demonstrating their thought process through visual story telling.

The North Platte softball invite has been canceled tomorrow, Saturday, September 16th
Congratulations to the CHS 2023 Top Ten Homecoming King and Queen Candidates. King Candidates include Ben Yocom, Chris Ruano, Dreu White, Hayden Russman, Isaiah White, Jed Dugan, Kooper Pohl, Monty Follmer-Brooks, Tyree Smith and Waylon Fleharty. Queen candidates are Blair Brennan, Breckyn Gibbens, Ellie Albrecht, Kelseigh Romero, Makaia Baker, Makenna Wilkinson, Mayla Sutherland, Nayelie Castillo-Frias, Payton Pond, Shaylee Buss, and Taylor Howell.
Location change---The 8th Grade Volleyball game vs. McCook today (9-14-2023) has been moved to the High School gym. Game time is 4:30 pm. The game will also be streamed on our HudlTV at https://www.team1sports.com/highschool/ne/?S=cozadhaymakers

To wrap up our CKLA nursery rhymes unit in Kindergarten, Cozad Elementary Schools held its first ever Nursery Rhyme Olympics! All activities are based on a nursery rhyme that we learned. The events were:
-Little Miss Muffet's spider crawl
-Hickory Dickory Dock clock walk
-Jack and Jill water relay
-Humpty Dumpty, and a Little Bo Peep sheep find

Reminder to all High School students--we will be taking MAPs testing Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Students must make sure they charge their chromebooks and bring to school.
Update on 7th & 8th grade Football at Ogallala on Tuesday, September 12th--Due to numbers for Ogallala, the 8th graders will play first at 6:30 pm CST followed by 2 quarters of 7th grade. We encourage all spectators to arrive by 6:30 in case the games are adjusted in Ogallala.
Due to the championship game being suspended due to weather Saturday and the Cozad Softball Invite, play will resume on Wednesday, September 13th, at 4:00 pm at Bellamy Field. Come out and support the Lady Haymakers against St. Paul.
Volleyball at Arapahoe on Tuesday, September 12th, is Varsity ONLY. Game times are 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
CHS Volleyball Invite--Saturday, September 9th. Games begin at Noon and will be played in the CHS Gym and Wellness Center.
CHS Softball Invite on Saturday, September 9th. Games begin at Bellamy Field at 9:00 am. All games are based the prior game--we will play the games as the fields become available to move the tournament along.
