Last Friday was an exciting day at Cozad High School and Middle School! Thomas Valles, a star of the '87 California state champion cross country team featured in Disney's "McFarland, USA," shared his incredible journey with our students. Hosted by Claude and Karen Berreckman, Valles inspired us all with his message of overcoming challenges and adversity.
In the evening, the Fox Theater in Cozad was buzzing with energy as Mr. Valles joined cross country athletes from the area for a special screening of "McFarland, USA." What a fantastic opportunity for our students to connect with such a motivational figure!
Huge thanks to Claude and Karen Berreckman for making this happen and allowing our students to hear Valles' empowering message. Let the inspiration continue!

During our plants unit in Kindergarten, we learned what plants needed to grow. We decided to try it out ourselves! We grew our grass as tall as possible throughout our unit and watered our grass daily. When our unit was done, we made a face for our plant, cut their hair, and turned our cups of grass into new friends!
