Congratulations to Mrs. Patty Margritz on her retirement. Mrs. Margritz has been a part of our district for the past 33 years and for the past 17 years has taught Middle School Language Arts. Your dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to helping students navigate the challenging transition from childhood to adolescence has been invaluable. Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement, and thank you for making a positive impact on so many young lives.


Summer Afterzone will be held starting Tuesday, May 30th and run until Friday, July 21st. We look forward to a FUN and exciting summer session!


Congratulations to Mr. Ron Bubak on his retirement. Mr. Bubak has taught high school math for the past 26 years at Cozad High School. Mr. Bubak is finishing his 40th year in education. We want to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude for his years of dedicated service as a teacher. His passion for teaching and unwavering commitment to his students has had a profound impact on the lives of many students and athletes. Thank you for everything, and we wish you a happy and fulfilling retirement. You will be missed!!


Congratulations to CHS students Kaylee Revelo-Martinez, Avyana Pena, and Haley Barnes on receiving your CNA and Med Aide certifications. Also to Ariana Chavez for your CNA certification. Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to your education has paid off, and you should be incredibly proud of this achievement. Your new skills and qualifications will undoubtedly serve you well as you pursue your career goals in healthcare. CHS Golfers--Conference Golf tomorrow, Thursday, May 4th, has been moved up and starts at 10am and not 11am.

Congratulations to Mrs. Jann Kloepping who will be retiring at the end of this school year. Mrs. Kloepping has dedicated 35 years to teaching Senior Language Arts at Cozad Community Schools. Thank you so much for your years of dedication to education and for being such an inspiring and caring teacher. Your impact on your students and the school community will not be forgotten and we wish you all the best in your well-deserved retirement.


Reminder that Little Cheer Camp registrations are due by May 18th (last day of school). The camp is for Grades K-5th (incoming K and outgoing 5th) on June 22nd and 23rd. 4th Grade Arbor Day poster contest winners planted a tree at Veterans Memorial Park as part of the Arbor Day Cerebration on Friday, April 28. These students included 4th graders Jackson Broz, Dodson Buhring, Ellie Canas, Lucy Hanna and Zoey Priel. Jax Yocom was unable to attend. Also in attendance were Cozad Forestry Board members Mel Nutt, Lorne Laird, Deb Leahy and Zach Priel and Western Nebraska Forester Chrissy Land.


There will be NO AFTERZONE on the last day of school, Thursday, May 18th. Summer AfterZone will then begin on Tuesday May 30th.


Last Day of school for students will be Thursday, May 18th. (please note the printed calendar has this incorrect). Students will be dismissed at 11:00 on the 18th. Breakfast will be served but there will be no lunches served or no AfterZone on the 18th.


At Best in the Midwest Blair Brennan placed 2nd in 100m dash(12.74). Mallory Applegate placed 2nd in the 1600m and broke the school record with a time of 5:29.29, Karyn Burkholder was 1st in 300m hurdles breaking the school record with a time of 44.85. Good job Lady Haymakers!

2023 Senior Honors Night is Monday, May 8th at 7:00 pm. Seniors and presenters will need to be there by 6:45 pm. If a senior is receiving an award or scholarship, they will be notified by Friday and they need to be at Senior Honor Ceremony.


Calendar Update: Please note the Senior Honors night next week is incorrect on the school printed calendar. Senior Honors Night is Monday, May 8th, at 7:00 pm (the printed calendar says Tuesday, May 9th). Please mark your calendar accordingly. Thank you!
