Last night, on Monday, January 15th, the Cozad Community School Board of Education convened for their January meeting. New officers were elected for the year ahead. Meet the leadership team: Kiley Goff as President, Joel Carlson as Vice President, and Ann Burkholder as Secretary. Good Luck to our Cozad Haymaker Boys and Girls Basketball teams tonight! The Haymakers will be hosting Amherst with game times of 4:00, 5:30, and 7:00 pm. Come cheer on our Haymakers to a victory! If you cannot make it to the game, the games in the HS gym will be streamed on our HudlTV.

Cozad FFA New Jacket Ceremony is scheduled for Monday, January 29th at 7:00 pm in the High School Auditorium.

The 2024 Southwest Conference Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament kicks off next week. Cozad Girls will play Valentine on Monday, January 22, at 4:30 pm. Cozad boys will start the tournament on Tuesday, January 23rd at home against Minden with a 6:00 pm game time.



Congratulations to these Cozad kids caught with character! They were nominated for showing empathy throughout the month of December.


Congratulations to our 2024 Mid-Winter King & Queen Candidates. Queen candidates include: Nayelie Castillo, Makaia Baker, Alexia Conder, Makenzie Smock, and Makenna Wilkinson. King candidates are: Waylon Fleharty, Hayden Russman, Salvador Lopez, Benjamin Yocom, and Wyatt Hosick. The Mid-Winter King and Queen will be crowned at the CHS Mid-Winter Dance this Friday. Important Information: Cozad Elementary had a fire sprinkler line freeze in the southwest vestibule this evening. Local agencies and the Nebraska Fire Marshal have all been contacted and we are safe for school to resume on Monday. Parents, during morning drop off take extra precautions as your children are entering the building. Feel free to use the circle drive if you deem it necessary. Clean up efforts at the elementary are underway and we will be ready for our students first thing in the morning! Teachers, please use the northwest entrance to enter into the school building. Updates for Saturday, January 13th activities:
The home basketball games against Centura have been postponed. These will be rescheduled with a date to be determined later.
The cheerleaders will still have little cheer camp tomorrow morning, but since there will be no basketball game, they will perform little cheer at the boys game this coming Tuesday (1/16/24)

The Middle School Quiz Bowl Dual in Gothenburg scheduled for Monday (1/15/24) has been postponed.

The CHS wrestling team will now be attending the Chase County Invitational on Saturday, January 13th. This regular invite will take the place of today's canceled invite at Minden.
