Middle School football practice on Thursday October 2 will be at 3:30 PM. Practice on Friday October 3rd will be at 9:30 AM. Practice on Friday will last 75 minutes.

It’s Homecoming Night under the lights! Good luck to our Haymaker Football team as they take on Broken Bow tonight at Haymaker Stadium. Kickoff is at 7:00 pm. Let’s pack the stands and cheer loud for the Haymakers! The crowning of our Homecoming King and Queen will take place immediately following the game.

Haymaker fans, we apologize, but tonight’s Varsity Football game vs. Broken Bow will not be streamed on our HudlTV. A new camera has been ordered but has not yet arrived. If you are a Cozad Telephone subscriber, the game can be viewed on Channel 21 (Absolute) or Channel 62 (Epic). Today, the Cozad Early Education Center kicked off its first Kind Kids presentation of the school year! Each month, students are recognized for showing kindness. September’s honorees were Creighton Crick, Weston Worrell, Kaylee Gibbens, Cristian Revelo-Alvarez, Jack Heimann, and Oliver Laird. A special thank you to CHS seniors Lucha Olvera and Abby Negley for presenting the awards to our PreK students. Way to go, Kind Kids!

Due to the weather, the MS football contests scheduled for today will be postponed to Thursday, September 25th. The 7th grade contest will start at 4:30pm, and the 8th grade contest will start at 6:00pm.

Join us for the Homecoming Pep Rally this Friday, September 26th, at 2:30 pm in the Haymaker Arena (High School West Gym). Let’s pack the gym and show our Haymaker spirit!

Due to rainy weather, today’s softball games vs. Chase County have been postponed. They will now be played on Thursday, October 2nd at 5:00 and 6:30 pm.

Update to Middle School Volleyball on Tuesday, September 23: This is a location change. Both the 7th grade and 8th grade teams will play Holdrege at 4:30 pm. The 7th grade game will be in The Barn and the 8th grade game will be in the Haymaker Arena (West Gym). Good luck to our Haymakers!

It’s Middle School game day on Tuesday, September 23! The 7th grade and 8th grade Volleyball teams take on Holdrege at 4:30 pm, with the 7th grade playing at the Wellness Center and the 8th grade in the Barn. The 7th grade and 8th grade Football teams will also face Holdrege at Haymaker Stadium, with games at 5:00 and 6:30 pm. Good luck to our Haymakers!

Tonight is the last home softball game of the season! Join us this evening, on Tuesday, September 23rd, as the Haymakers take on Chase County. This game is also Senior Night—come out and help us celebrate Clatyn and cheer on our Lady Haymakers! 🥎

Today, the Girls Golf Team competed at Wild Horse Golf Club in Gothenburg for the Dawson County Invite. The format was “play 8, score the top 5” with teams from Cozad, Lexington, and Gothenburg participating. The Cozad ladies brought home 1st place as a team with a combined score of 514. Individually, the girls had a strong showing, placing well among 21 competitors: *Ella Atchison earned 1st place with a score of 84, setting a new personal record. *Ava Joyce placed 3rd with a 94, also a personal best. *Morgan Mraz took 4th with a score of 105. *Abbie Albrecht finished 6th with a 110. *Emma Howerter placed 14th with a 121. *Mollie Spradlin came in 18th with a 131. *Baylee Eldridge placed 19th with a 134. Great job, ladies!

Good luck to our Girls Golf team as they compete today at the Dawson County Meet in Gothenburg at 10:00 am, and tomorrow at the Ogallala Invite at 10:00 am (CST)! ⛳️

On Thursday, the girls golf team competed at the North Platte Invite, held at River Edge Golf Club. The team faced chilly weather conditions—a notable shift from recent tournaments—and adjusted to a new course that most had never played before.

Ella Atchison earned 8th place with a score of 96. Abbie Albrecht set a new personal record, shooting a 100. Emma Howerter finished with a 117, and Ava Joyce recorded a 119. Morgan Mraz did not compete due to injury.

Great effort by all the girls in tough conditions on unfamiliar terrain.

On Tuesday the Girls Golf Team competed at Wild Horse for the Gothenburg invite. As a team Cozad placed 4th out of 11 teams.
Ella Atchison placed 5th with a score of 88.
Ava Joyce placed 15th with a score of 97 setting a new personal record.
Morgan Mraz scored 100.
Abbie Albrecht scored 120.
Emma Howerter scored 130.
