Today, the Cozad Early Education Center kicked off its first Kind Kids presentation of the school year! Each month, students are recognized for showing kindness. September’s honorees were Creighton Crick, Weston Worrell, Kaylee Gibbens, Cristian Revelo-Alvarez, Jack Heimann, and Oliver Laird. A special thank you to CHS seniors Lucha Olvera and Abby Negley for presenting the awards to our PreK students. Way to go, Kind Kids!

Due to the weather, the MS football contests scheduled for today will be postponed to Thursday, September 25th. The 7th grade contest will start at 4:30pm, and the 8th grade contest will start at 6:00pm.

The 7th grade and 8th grade Volleyball teams take on Holdrege at 4:30 pm, with the 7th grade playing at the Wellness Center and the 8th grade in the Barn. Today, the Girls Golf Team competed at Wild Horse Golf Club in Gothenburg for the Dawson County Invite.
The format was “play 8, score the top 5” with teams from Cozad, Lexington, and Gothenburg participating. The Cozad ladies brought home 1st place as a team with a combined score of 514.
Individually, the girls had a strong showing, placing well among 21 competitors:
*Ella Atchison earned 1st place with a score of 84, setting a new personal record.
*Ava Joyce placed 3rd with a 94, also a personal best.
*Morgan Mraz took 4th with a score of 105.
*Abbie Albrecht finished 6th with a 110.
*Emma Howerter placed 14th with a 121.
*Mollie Spradlin came in 18th with a 131.
*Baylee Eldridge placed 19th with a 134.

Good luck to our Girls Golf team as they compete today at the Dawson County Meet in Gothenburg at 10:00 am, and tomorrow at the Ogallala Invite at 10:00 am (CST)! ⛳️

On Thursday, the girls golf team competed at the North Platte Invite, held at River Edge Golf Club. The team faced chilly weather conditions—a notable shift from recent tournaments—and adjusted to a new course that most had never played before.
Ella Atchison earned 8th place with a score of 96. Abbie Albrecht set a new personal record, shooting a 100. Emma Howerter finished with a 117, and Ava Joyce recorded a 119. Morgan Mraz did not compete due to injury.
