Support Haymaker Boys Basketball and help outfit our team for success this season! 🏀 We’re holding a drawing for a beautiful handmade Cozad Haymaker quilt, with all proceeds going toward new uniforms and other needs for the boys basketball program. Tickets are $5 for 1 or $20 for 5, and the winning name will be drawn at the last regular-season home game against McCook on February 19th. Tickets can be purchased with cash at the game or conveniently through Venmo @Sera-Shoemaker. Thank you for supporting our athletes and the Haymaker tradition!

On Wednesday, the Middle School Quiz Bowl team hosted a duel with Gothenburg. The final round featured a fun and unique matchup—two mixed teams made up of three Cozad students and three Gothenburg students each. It was a great display of collaboration, competition, and sportsmanship. Gothenburg won the duel 4–2, and we are proud of our Cozad students for their hard work and teamwork!

Good luck to our JV and Varsity Boys Wrestling teams as they host Lexington tonight in a home meet in the West Gym beginning at 6:30 PM. It’s also Senior Night as we recognize our Boys and Girls Wrestling seniors. Go Haymakers!

Good luck to our CHS Basketball teams as they travel west today to take on the Gothenburg Swedes. JV and Varsity Girls and Boys games are scheduled for 4:30, 6:00, and 7:30 PM. Go Haymakers!

Join us for Senior Night as we recognize our CHS Senior Wrestlers on Thursday, January 15th. The Boys Wrestling team will host Lexington beginning at 6:30 PM, with JV and Varsity Boys competition only. Senior Girls Wrestlers will also be recognized along with the Senior Boys.

Please join us in welcoming our student teachers to Cozad Elementary this semester! We’re excited to have Brynn Claycamp from UNK (Edgar, NE) working with Mrs. Gengenbach, Emily Winter from UNK (Lexington, NE) working with Mrs. Gilbert, and Chesney Bartlett from UNL (Gothenburg, NE) working with Mrs. Heimann. We’re glad to have them as part of our Cozad school community and wish them a great semester of learning and teaching.

Congratulations to our CHS Cheer team and coaches on a great performance at the Heartland Championships this past weekend in Lincoln, earning a 3rd place finish. Excellent work, Lady Haymakers!

Good luck to our CHS Cheer team in their first competition of the year! The CHS Cheer team will compete at the Heartland Cheer Competition at Standing Bear High School in Lincoln tomorrow, Sunday, January 11th. Performance times are 11:45 AM and 1:40 PM. Big night of home basketball tonight, Friday, January 9th, as the Haymakers host Ogallala. Games begin at 4:00 PM. It’s a BLACK OUT and Little Cheer Night, making for an exciting evening in the gym. Come enjoy great girls and boys basketball and help celebrate our future cheerleaders!

Cozad Early Education Center Preschool enrollment is now open. Enrollment runs from January 6 through April 3. Applications are available at the CEEC office.

Varsity Girls Wrestling will be at the Norm Manstedt Invite in Columbus beginning at 10:00 AM. JV Boys Wrestling competes at the Gothenburg Invite starting at 3:00 PM. Reserve Girls and Boys Basketball will be at home against North Platte with game times at 5:00 and 6:00 PM.
