Senior Seminar - April 16th--Today our seniors participated in an impactful day of learning as they prepare for life beyond high school. With the support of local professionals, students gained real-world knowledge in key areas:
Basic Health Care – Dr. Wetovick
Before You Sign on the Line (Contracts & Leases) – Attorney Brian Davis
Insurance for Beginners – Mrs. Teresa Osborn, Cozad Home Agency
Safety When You're on Your Own – Officer Tim Kostrunek, Dawson County Sheriff’s Department

Cozad Community Schools will offer Driver’s Education during Summer 2025. Classroom instruction begins on May 27. Each student will need to complete five hours of driving and five hours of observation over the course of one week. Driving schedules will be set during the months of June or July. The cost for the course is $300. Registration is due by May 4. Registration forms are available in the high school and middle school offices or can be found on our website under the "Documents" section.

CHS Junior Swaisen Mroczek Attends 2025 Attorney General’s Youth Conference--Swaisen was one of just 52 students from across Nebraska selected to attend this year’s Attorney General’s Youth Conference in Lincoln. To be accepted, students were required to submit a short essay on an amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
At the conference, students learned about Nebraska law from Attorney General Mike Hilgers, formed and debated arguments on an actual bill related to social media, and heard from leaders including members of the Solicitor General’s team, Bureau Chiefs, Senator Beau Ballard, and Nebraska Supreme Court Justice Justin Bergevin—right in the Supreme Courtroom.
Swaisen's favorite part? Learning about open arguments in legal proceedings from the Solicitor Generals team. Students also had the opportunity to enjoy lunch at the Governor’s Residence and hear a speech from Governor Jim Pillen.

Congratulations to our Winter 2024-25 NSAA/NCPA Academic All-State Award winners! These outstanding Haymakers have been recognized by the Nebraska School Activities Association and the Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association for their academic excellence, leadership, and dedication to their activities. We are proud to celebrate their achievements.
