Students, We are approaching the halfway point of the spring semester, which means scheduling for the high school! We have emailed to all next years' CHS students a PDF of our Cozad Course Catalog for the 2021-2022 academic year. Students, currently in grades 8-11, should begin combing through this document to start forming ideas on what classes you would like to take next school year. Cozad Community Schools has invited Karen Haase to present “Digital Citizenship & Safety” during the 3/8/2021 school day to the CCS student body, grades 4-12. Karen will meet with 4th & 5th graders at 11:30, Middle School at 1:00 pm, and High School students at 2:00 pm. During her presentation, school attorney Karen Haase will discuss legal issues related to students' use of social media. Using humor, statistics, and summaries of real-life cases, Karen will explain to students the significant consequences attached to the inappropriate use of social media. In addition, Karen will provide students with the information and resources to be safe online and practice a positive digital presence.
Karen Haase is a partner in the law firm of KSB School Law, where she focuses her practice exclusively on representing public school districts and related entities. She holds degrees from Hastings College, Kansas State University and the University of Nebraska College of Law. Prior to attending law school, Karen taught at both the high school and post-secondary level. Karen has been married to her high school sweetheart for 25 years and has two children.

CHS Giving Closet will be open to CHS Students Thursday after school until 4:00 pm, Friday morning from 7:30 am to 8:00 am and Friday afternoon from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm. The Giving Closet has a great selection of dress/formal clothing for boys and girls. This would be a GREAT opportunity to get your outfit for the Mid Winter Dance. #cozadMakers

Cozad Elementary Kids Heart Challenge is March 1st through March 19th. Mr. Squiers will be showing the students a video next week to introduce what this is and how it works. By participating in Kids Heart Challenge, your child will raise funds to help kids with special hearts and make all communities healthier. The CHS Quiz Bowl team will be competing at the Custer County Quiz Bowl on Wednesday, February 24th at 8:30 am. The event will be livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook or you can listen on 95.3 FM
