Due to Lexington being unable to attend, the JV Softball Triangular scheduled for September 17th has been changed to a JV Doubleheader vs. North Platte.

MS Football Schedule Update - 9.15.26

Due to limited numbers for both teams, tonight’s middle school football games will have an adjusted schedule and format:

7th Grade: 5:00 PM — 2 Full Quarters
8th Grade: Following the 7th grade game, around 5:45 PM — 3 Full Quarters

Thank you to Terese Peden Baker for coming and sharing her personal story from 9-11 with our fourth graders. Ms. Baker was in Tower 1 when the first plane crashed and fortunately got out. She then witnessed the second plane crash into the building and had to run to take cover. Ms. Baker encouraged us to be kind and be a united country just as we were after the attacks. We appreciate your willingness and courage to share and answer our questions. #HaymakerWay

The Cozad Softball Invite games will begin at 2:00 pm today

SOFTBALL INVITE UPDATE—9/12/2026 Due to more rain moving into the area, we are delaying softball. We are not 100% sure of the new start time at this point. We will monitor the weather and plan to begin once the rain moves through. We will provide another update as soon as we know more. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Good luck to all of our Haymaker athletes competing today! Cross Country travels to Broken Bow with competition beginning at 9:00 AM, while Cozad hosts both the Softball Invite beginning at 9:30 AM and the Volleyball Invite beginning at noon. Have a great day of competition and Go Haymakers!

Fall Pep Rally! Join us Friday, September 11 at 2:45 p.m. in the CHS Arena as we celebrate and recognize our fall athletes! We’ll also announce the Top 10 Homecoming candidates. Come show your Haymaker pride and help us kick off the fall season!

TRIANGULAR CHAMPIONS!

The Cozad Girls Golf Team came out on top tonight at the 9-hole triangular in Minden, competing against Minden and Holdrege. The girls finished with a team score of 197 to take the team victory!

Schedule Update: 9/8/2026 -- Tonight's Softball games vs. Aurora have been postponed due to wet field conditions. Future date to be determined.

The Cozad XC team hosted the Cozad Cross Country Invitational this morning at the Cozad Country Club. 9 teams were in attendance.

MS boys: 1st place as a team
MS girls: 1st place as a team
HS boys: 2nd place as a team
HS girls: 6th place as a team

High School medalists include Audrey Baker – 3rd, Jaxson Arndt – 7th, Taegan Dexter – 10th, Gavin Guerra – 15th, Kenny Hernandez – 16th, Cayden Schwarz – 17th, and Chase Smith – 18th.

Middle School medalists include Sydney Rahn – 2nd, Jax Yocom – 3rd, Grayden Guerra – 4th, Jackson Broz – 5th, Gretchen Guerra – 7th, Myles Heimann – 8th, and Lennor Bennett – 9th.

Meet our amazing AfterZone staff! We are excited to introduce the team that helps make AfterZone a fun, safe, and engaging place for our students. Pictured are Jami Davis, Alizeah Shirley, Karmen Morse, Denise Rasmussen, and Ava Osborn. Not pictured is Tristan LeVario.

We are excited to welcome Denise Rasmussen as the new Assistant Director of AfterZone! Denise will be handling the day-to-day activities, while Karmen Morse will oversee the administrative duties as the Director of AfterZone.

We are grateful for this wonderful team and all they do for our students and families!

Softball Schedule Update – Thursday, September 3--Due to the heat, the JV game against HWY 6 has been cancelled. The Varsity game has been moved to a 7:00 PM start time.

School Picture Days are this week at Cozad Community Schools!

High School and Middle School students will have pictures taken on Wednesday, September 2, and CEEC and Elementary students will have pictures taken on Thursday, September 3.

There are no forms to complete or turn in before picture day. After photos are taken, the photographer will send families an email with information and links to view and order pictures.
