Congratulations to our Senior Outstanding Athlete Award Winners. The 2022-2023 Two Sport Outstanding Female Athletes are Mallory Applegate and Megan Dyer. The 2022-2023 Two Sport Outstanding Male Athlete is Eli Boryca. The 2022-2023 Three Sport Outstanding Female Athlete is Karyn Burkholder and the Three Sport Outstanding Male Athlete is Cord Chytka. Congratulations to these seniors and their leadership and dedication.
Elementary Parents: As you know, this week is our K-3 Field Day (May 10th) and our Grades 4 & 5 Track Meet. Hopefully the weather will be nice and we will not have to make any changes or postponements; however, IF we need to postpone either due to inclement weather they will be moved to the following dates: K-3 Field Day — Tuesday, May 16th (12:45-3:00pm) and 4-5 Little Maker Track Meet — Monday, May 15th (12:45-3:00pm). Again, this is ONLY IF WEATHER DOES NOT PERMIT THEM TO BE HELD THIS WEEK.
District Track & Field--Tuesday, May 9th. Haymaker Track and Field athletes and coaches will travel to Ogallala to compete at the B-6 District Track Meet. Field Events begin at 10:30 MT (11:30 Central) and Running Events begin at 1:00 MT (2:00 Central). Good Luck Haymakers!
Senior Honor Night will be held this evening, Monday, May 8th, at 7:00 pm in the High School Auditorium. We would like to thank our local community members, families, and patrons for their gracious donations of scholarships for our CHS Seniors.
Congratulations to the Cozad Middle School 4x800 team that broke the school record at their home track invite Friday. Gavin Guerra, Brayden Barber, Julien Davis, and Osiel Ramirez set the new 9:38.15 school record, beating the previous record that was set two years ago by 1 second! The team also qualified for the State Middle School Meet. Congratulations Haymakers!
Congratulations to these CMS track athletes that have qualified for the Middle School track meet. Myles Ide will compete in the shot put and the 4x800 relay team--Gavin Guerra, Brayden Barber, Julien Davis, Osiel Ramirez and Chase Smith--will also be competing. The MS track meet will be held Saturday, May 13th, in Gothenburg.
