Congratulations to the newly selected 2024-2025 Cozad High School dance team! Introducing Sierra McGinnis, our new Middle School Art teacher for the 2024-2025 school year! Sierra joins us from Diller-Odell and brings her passion for art education. A soon-to-be graduate of UNK, she's currently gaining valuable experience through student teaching at Gibbon Public Schools. We're thrilled to welcome Sierra to our team and look forward to the creativity and inspiration she'll bring to our students.


Shelby Dietz, soon to be Worrell, currently residing in Cozad, brings excitement as we look forward to reducing her commute! Transitioning from teaching 4th grade in North Platte, she'll now be instructing 5th graders at Cozad Elementary School. Shelby is dedicated to fostering a secure classroom atmosphere where every student can thrive and reach their highest potential. Due to inclement weather forecast Cozad Community Schools will have a 10:00 late start for Tuesday, March 26th.


CHS - ACT UPDATE: The 11th Grade NSCAS ACT Exam that was scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed to Wednesday of this week. Students will test in the same locations as communicated previously. ALL CHS 11th graders are expected to bring their Chromebooks and chargers to school tomorrow.

Due to weather, tomorrow's Boys Varsity Golf Triangular and JV and Varsity Track Quad are canceled.


Due to forecasted inclement weather Cozad Community Schools will be closed on Monday, March 25th.


Please extend a warm welcome to Amanda Badgley, our newest addition to the Haymaker staff at Cozad Elementary. Amanda brings valuable experience as a Special Education teacher, having served in this role for the past five years at Arnold Public Schools after graduating from UNK. We're thrilled to have her expertise enriching our team and to provide her with the opportunity to be closer to her family in Kearney. Welcome aboard, Amanda!

Yanira Rodriguez has accepted the high school English position for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year. Presently, she is immersed in her student teaching field placement at Lexington Public Schools. This spring, she will complete her bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Yanira's educational journey began at North Platte High School, where she distinguished herself as a dedicated student, actively engaging in Speech, One Act, Mock Trial, and Theatre. A warm welcome to Yanira as she joins Cozad and our Haymaker family!

Cozad Elementary rocked the Kids Heart Challenge this year! Huge thanks to our amazing students and sponsors for making it a success and supporting our health mission. With 98 students participating online, 53 families learning Hands-Only CPR, and 40 completing FINN’S MISSION, we raised over $14,800 for the American Heart Association—beating last year's record! 🌟 Special congratulations to Eastyn Green for her outstanding donations of $1,656.53, earning her the #1 spot and the honor of having the gymnasium named after her for the 2024-25 school year. Let's keep spreading heart- and brain-healthy habits!


Congratulations to the new 2024-25 Cozad High School Cheer Team! Selected at tryouts on Monday, March 18, this squad is ready to rock it! Led by coaches Makenzie Rossell and Jaidin Ronning, the team is set for an amazing year ahead. The 2024-2025 team cosists of: Rachel Ewoldt, Mara Smith, Brilee Wiese, Kinley Armagost, Erica Weatherly, Callie Kostrunek, Tally Sassali, McKenzie Munster, Mallory Munster, Bryna Edeal-Feldhausen, Clatyn Fleharty, Emersyn Propp, Riley Peck, Briley Fisher, and Bailey Hyatt. Practice sessions kicked off on Thursday, March 21 at 6:30 a.m. as they gear up for the spring pep rally on Wednesday, April 17. Let's cheer them on for an incredible season ahead!
