
Yanira Rodriguez has accepted the high school English position for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year. Presently, she is immersed in her student teaching field placement at Lexington Public Schools. This spring, she will complete her bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Yanira's educational journey began at North Platte High School, where she distinguished herself as a dedicated student, actively engaging in Speech, One Act, Mock Trial, and Theatre. A warm welcome to Yanira as she joins Cozad and our Haymaker family!

Cozad Elementary rocked the Kids Heart Challenge this year! Huge thanks to our amazing students and sponsors for making it a success and supporting our health mission. With 98 students participating online, 53 families learning Hands-Only CPR, and 40 completing FINN’S MISSION, we raised over $14,800 for the American Heart Association—beating last year's record! 🌟 Special congratulations to Eastyn Green for her outstanding donations of $1,656.53, earning her the #1 spot and the honor of having the gymnasium named after her for the 2024-25 school year. Let's keep spreading heart- and brain-healthy habits!


Congratulations to the new 2024-25 Cozad High School Cheer Team! Selected at tryouts on Monday, March 18, this squad is ready to rock it! Led by coaches Makenzie Rossell and Jaidin Ronning, the team is set for an amazing year ahead. The 2024-2025 team cosists of: Rachel Ewoldt, Mara Smith, Brilee Wiese, Kinley Armagost, Erica Weatherly, Callie Kostrunek, Tally Sassali, McKenzie Munster, Mallory Munster, Bryna Edeal-Feldhausen, Clatyn Fleharty, Emersyn Propp, Riley Peck, Briley Fisher, and Bailey Hyatt. Practice sessions kicked off on Thursday, March 21 at 6:30 a.m. as they gear up for the spring pep rally on Wednesday, April 17. Let's cheer them on for an incredible season ahead! This year, Cozad Elementary is starting a new tradition: The Growth Gala.
After spring NSCAS Growth testing (only grades 3rd-5th), students have the opportunity to earn an invitation to our formal gala. This event is to help celebrate our kids, and our teachers each spring.
It emphasizes growth, and also high achievement, which allows all an opportunity to earn an invite. More info to come!

Seniors--Update on School Calendar: On April 10 printed calendar shows a Scholarship Night but all scholarships are due by April 2 in the morning. April 10 is Senior Seminar for seniors at school during the day.

We will not have Cozad AfterZone Tuesday, March 5th and Wednesday, March 6th. Cozad AfterZone staff will be attending training in Lincoln. Please plan to have your student/s picked up after school at 3:20 pm on Tuesday and early out at 2:00 on Wednesday. Kids of the Kingdom students will be walked over on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 from the cafeteria. Kids of the Kingdom ends at 4:00 so please make plans for pick up at the church if your student normally attends Cozad AfterZone. Cozad AfterZone will be held on Thursday, March 7th but there is no school or Cozad AfterZone on Friday, March 8th. Thank you for your understanding.
