Notice is hereby given that a special meeting of the Cozad Community Schools Board of Education, District 11 of Dawson County, Nebraska will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the Office of the Superintendent, 1910 Meridian Ave, Cozad, Nebraska, previously posted to take place at KPS Administrative Office, which meeting will be open to the public. The agenda for this board meeting, which shall be kept continually current, is readily available for public inspection at the superintendent of school’s office during normal business hours.

Jumpstart Elementary Summer School 2024 starts on Monday, July 8th! To avoid confusion, kindly refrain from bringing or calling to enroll your child if their name was not already on the list this past spring. Summer School 2024 classes are full and we are unable to sign up any more students at this time. If your child is unable to attend and they were previously registered, please email Mrs. Amber Ross at amber.ross@cozadschools.net. Thank you and we are looking forward to seeing our Jumpstart Summer School students on July 8th!
The Middle School Softball camp scheduled for today is being postponed until June 12th--Tomorrow is still on as previously planned. Reminder, June 12 is the make up day for today's postponement.

Cozad FCCLA is hosting a garage sale & burger feed during Cozad City Wide Garage Sales on June 1st at Veteran's Memorial Park from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm. Come shop for treasures and enjoy delicious burgers, all for a great cause! Proceeds go towards helping our FCCLA national qualifiers compete in Seattle. Let's make a difference together!

Reminder: Summer weights start tomorrow, Tuesday, May 28th! Boys in grades 9-12 will begin at 6:30 AM, followed by girls in grades 9-12 at 7:30 AM. Finally, girls and boys in grades 6-8 will start at 8:30 AM. Let’s kick off the summer strong!

The High School offices have been relocated to the new District Office building on the high school campus. The High School and High School offices will be closed to walk-in traffic starting Monday, May 20th and continue through Monday, May 27th as we complete our move and install new phone service. At this time, our plan is to be operational on Tuesday, may 28th. If you need to contact the high school, you can call the District Office at 308-784-2745 or the Middle School office at 308-784-2746 and leave a message. We will return your all as soon as possible.
COZAD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OFFICE CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:
As you all know, we are in the last stages of our bond project. An incredible showing of support from our community, resilience from our staff, and teamwork from all to give our kids an amazing finished product. Thank you!
Starting effective immediately, the CEEC/Elementary office will be located on the North West side of the building. You will use the staff parking lot and farthest NW door to enter and exit the building. This includes all AfterZone and Summer School. The front of the building is CLOSED to all public and staff!

A big congratulations to the amazing staff of Cozad Community Schools who were recognized today for their remarkable longevity and dedication!
Susan Thurn has dedicated 10 years to our community, while Brian Cargill (not pictured) and Derek Hammerlun have each given 20 years of exceptional service. Jacque Yocom celebrated 25 years of commitment, and our extraordinary 2nd Grade teachers, Karen Berreckman and Debbie Neill, along with our wonderful Kindergarten teacher, Stephanie Rush, have each dedicated an incredible 35 years to educating our students.
Your commitment and passion for education have made a lasting impact on our students and community. Thank you for your incredible service!

Congratulations to Mrs. Dawn Beans and Mr. Daniel Revelo for receiving the 2024 Cozad Community Schools Foundation Excellence in Education Award! This award is selected by the senior class each year to honor two educators who have made a significant impact on their education at Cozad Schools.

The Summer Lunch Program will begin on Monday, May 28th and run through Friday, July 19th. Lunch will be served this year at the Cozad Middle School from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. These lunches are free for ages 1-18. Adults may eat for $5.50.
Cozad Community Schools was approved by the Nebraska Department of Education Child Nutrition Program to have rural non-congregate meals. This means that breakfast will be grab and go on Mondays and on Fridays starting May 28th (yes, we know it's a Tuesday. We just want to get 3 breakfasts out to families) through July 19th. Breakfasts will be available for pick up during lunch at the Middle School from 11:30am-12:30pm on Mondays and on Fridays. On Friday's, meals will also include lunch for Saturday and Sunday.
Please understand, if you do not sign up for these meals in advance, we cannot guarantee them as there will be an abundant number of meals to be distributed. It will be first come first serve for those not signed up.
Meals are for 1-18 year old children ONLY. Adults cannot purchase these meals.
***If your child attends Afterzone they will receive meals during AZ hours and cannot receive grab & go breakfasts. ****
