National Honor Society Members held their annual food drive for the Cozad Food Pantry. A total of 18,724 pounds of food was collected by CHS students. The
Freshmen donated 1551 lbs, Sophomores 426 lbs,
Juniors 3232 lbs, and Seniors 13515 lbs.
SCHEDULE UPDATE: The Cozad MS Wrestling team will travel to Broken Bow on Monday, November 19th, for a Triangular vs Broken Bow & Gothenburg starting at 6:00 PM. This event was not placed on the school calendar or on the SWC website. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Congratulations to Carissa Jensen on earning First Team All Southwest Conference in Volleyball this season! What a great award for all of Carissa's time and effort as a Lady Haymaker volleyball player!!
The Girls Basketball program would like you to join the movement and invite you to our Open Practice next Friday! We will have the HS Gym doors open at 4:30-6 p.m. on Friday Nov. 16th. This event is OPEN to ALL members of the Cozad community, parents and families, and media members! Please help our program kick off our 2018-2019 season.
Also we will have a parents meeting for those who have a student athlete in our program and also for the parents who have a girl that is a student manager in our program.

Congratulations to the Cozad High School students who raised $406.50 during their Powder Puff Football game. This was the fifth annual tournament which is dedicated to raising funds for the United Way. This year's proceeds helped purchase gas cards for cancer patients. Over 100 students, teachers, and parents were involved in the event.
The Haymaker Booster Club Fall Athletic Banquet was a great way to end the 2018 Fall Sports season!! So many great memories to reflect back on and teams & individuals to honor tonight! Great job student athletes and coaches for all your hard work and dedication! #ETL #cozadMakers

Congratulations to CHS Academic Decathlon Team. On Saturday, the Academic Decathlon team competed at Ravenna high school in their first competition of the year. The team won the Super Quiz event and had 12 individuals win 19 medals in the subjects of Math, Art, and Literature.

Congratulations to CHS students Megan Burkholder, Gabriel Estrada, and Hailey Wilson on their winning Voice of Democracy Speeches. The three HS students presented their speeches today at the Veterans Day Program. Their topic was "Why My Vote Matters". Burkholder received 1st place, Wilson 2nd place, and Estrada 3rd place. Congratulations!
Congratulations to Cozad Middle School students Shree Dyches-Chandler, Mason Fales, Andrea Meester, and Ariana Chavez who were selected winners of the Patriot's Pen Project. The students' topic was "Why I Honor the American Flag". These students will present their speeches at the God Rock Building at 10th & J on Monday, November 12th at 6:00 pm. The meal is for all veterans and their families and is sponsored by the Cozad Bible Church.
SkillsUSA will be holding their second annual Blanket and Pillow drive. They will be accepting donations through December 12, 2018. Blankets and pillows can be dropped off at the High School or contact Dawn Beans at dawn.beans@cozadschools.net and a SkillsUSA member will pick them up. Thanks for supporting this community service project.

Any girls in grades 5-8 that want to be a student manager for girls basketball this season please come to their practice on Monday, November 12th, in the Wellness Center. There will be a brief meeting for those interested and then for those that have practice can go and the rest can stay to help.

The Cozad Boys Basketball Program would like to invite you to our 1st Annual Community OPEN Practice to help celebrate the new 2018-2019 Basketball Season! The practice will take place on Friday Nov. 16th from 6pm-8pm in the HS gym. Admission is FREE and there will be prizes, contests, and FREE posters to take home. This event is OPEN to ALL members of the Cozad community, parents and families, media members, and the Haymaker Hoops Youth Basketball Players. Also, if you purchased apparel through the Boys Basketball order, it will be available for pick-up on this night.
