8th grade- dismiss at Noon after Lunch-- 8th graders will eat lunch after 4th period at 11:34.

Congratulations to Haley Cargill on signing with Southeast Community College to continue her education and softball career. Haley will be attending Southeast Community College in Beatrice, Nebraska, in the Fall of 2020. Haley signed today to play softball for Southeast with her parents, Brian and Lana Cargill, her sisters Grace, Greeley, and Henessy, High School Softball Coach Ashley Ford, and Southeast Head Softball Coach Jodi Deboer. Congratulations and Good Luck Haley!


Congratulations to the following students-athletes on their all-state honors as recognized by the Omaha World Herald. Jacob Engel named 1st Team All-State Punter. CHS Basketball Players, Parents & Fans--Please note that the SECOND round of the Holiday Tournament on Saturday, December 28th, will be played at Sandy Creek--not Central City as printed on the school calendar.

Middle School Honors Convocation will be held December 19th at 9:00 AM in the Auditorium. Students will receive awards for Honor Roll, all A’s, and sports participation awards. Life Skills classes will also do their quilt drawings for 1st semester.

Runza Hoops Classic Girls' and Boys' Holiday Tournament will be held in Wood River beginning on Friday, December 27th.

Student dismissal schedule, results of NHS Canned Food Drive: Seniors dismissed all day, Juniors and Freshmen (exceeded goal) dismissed after 3rd period (10:10 am), Sophomores dismissed at 1:00 pm.

Reminder--Cozad Wrestling Club Registration will be tomorrow, Thursday, December 12th, 2019, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm in the High School Commons. This is for students Pre-K through 8th grade (students must be 5 years old).

Seniors in Mrs. Rossell's American Government classes participated in their debate today. Prior to the debate, students complete an online questionnaire to determine which party they align with. The entire class votes on issues to debate. Students then research their party's stance. Today they debated from Rep. or Dem. sides on the issues!


Calendar Change this week: The Girls' 9/10 Basketball Game in McCook scheduled for Thursday, December 12th, has been CANCELLED. The 9/10 Boys will still play in McCook on Thursday with a changed start time of 5:00 pm.

Cozad Community Schools is seeking applicants for the following positions:
TLC Paraprofessional. This is a 9-month, 35 hour per week position at the Elementary School. Benefits include single health, dental and vision insurance.
Part-Time AfterZone Paraprofessional. This position includes working as part of
a team doing activities with elementary students, working 12-15 afternoon hours
per week.
