Cozad Public Schools students in grades kindergarten through 12 are invited to audition for the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) production of “Little Red Riding Hood” on Monday, Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. in the Lexington Middle School auditorium, 1100 N. Washington St. in Lexington.
The audition will last for about two hours and those interested need to arrive no later than 3:55 p.m. to register. Enter through the west entrance (Washington Street) of the Middle School. At the end of the audition 50-60 cast members will be selected to continue with rehearsals throughout the week. Even if not selected for a part, the audition serves as an introduction to theatre and is well worth each student’s time to learn about stage presence, mime, improvisation and other acting skills.
Directors Joshua Glover and Zach Gammel are anxious to meet and work with area students on the production. Both have degrees in theatre performance and acting experience in local, collegiate and regional theatre productions, as well as their MCT training.
Cast members will need to clear their schedules for the remainder of the week and for a 3 p.m. performance on Saturday, Feb. 26. The only excused absences are for illness or a death in the family. Rehearsal sessions will run from 4-6 p.m. with a 15-minute supper break and again from 6:15-8:15 p.m. Cast members need to bring a sack lunch each day to eat during the supper break.
This residency is sponsored by the Plum Creek Community Players and the Lexington Community Foundation.
If you have any questions about the auditions or MCT, please contact local presenter, Barb Bierman Batie at 308-325-2247 or email her at barb.batie@gmail.com.
