RE: Back-To-School COVID-19 General Protocols

The COVID-19 pandemic may continue to impact some of our normal daily school operations as we move through the school year.  At this time (08/17/2021), the following protocols will be in place starting on the first day of school.  As we all know, local directed health measures and protocols can be fluid.  Thus, the district will continue to review and adjust protocols, when and as needed, to provide a safe environment and sound education.

General Protocols For The Start Of The 2021-2022 School Year:

  • Students and staff will be attending school in person.
  • Masks will be optional for students and staff to begin the year..
  • Cleaning and safety procedures will be in place as they were during the 2020-2021 school year.
  • High traffic areas, lunchrooms, and hallways will be cleaned with food-grade hydrostatic sprayers.
  • Plexiglass barriers will be used in lunch lines and other areas as needed.
  • Classrooms will be disinfected throughout the day.
  • Students need to bring water bottles due to drinking fountains being shut off.
  • Please help us by keeping your child at home if they don’t feel well or if they are running a fever of 100 degrees or more.
  • Students must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medicine, prior to returning to school.

If you have any questions regarding the back-to-school protocols, please contact the school at any time.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding as we work to maintain a safe environment for students and staff at Cozad Community Schools.
