We are thrilled to announce that Coach Haarberg, Coach Atchison, and the Cozad Girls Golf Team have been selected by the Nebraska PGA REACH Foundation to receive the prestigious Clubs FORE Youth Grant.
On May 7th, Amber Bogle, Director of PGA REACH Nebraska, visited Cozad to present the Lady Haymakers with an incredible package: five brand-new sets of Callaway clubs and bags, Sun Mountain push carts, and three days of PGA professional training scheduled for June at Meadowlark Hills Golf Course in Kearney.
The Clubs FORE Youth initiative was created to help eliminate equipment barriers for girls entering the game of golf. Coach Haarberg applied for the grant last fall after noticing that a couple of her athletes were using outdated or improperly sized clubs borrowed from family and friends during her first year of coaching.
Out of 44 schools across Nebraska who applied, Cozad was proudly chosen as one of just 10 recipients of this impactful grant. The new equipment and upcoming training sessions will provide our athletes with tools and coaching that are properly tailored to help them grow and succeed on the course.
Current roster members for this coming fall include: Abbie Albrecht, Ava Joyce, Ella Atchison, Emma Howerter, Morgan Mraz, Baylee Eldridge, and Mollie Spradlin.
