CHS Students compete at Western Regional Science Fair

Five Cozad High School students competed at the Western Regional Science Fair (WRSF) at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA) in Curtis on Monday, March 13, 2023.  Students presenting their projects were Rutger Valkema, Brock Malcom, Taeh Soe, Lilianna Wylie, and Andrea Meester. The students competed against other schools in the region for a chance to participate in the state meet.  

Congratulations to Andrea Meester who earned a medal and qualified for the State Science Fair.  Her project, Argentum's Ability to Inhibit Bacterial Growth,  received purple ribbon and qualified her for a medal and advancing to the state competition.

Other results from the competition include: 

  • Rutger Valkema's project, Similarities Between our Birds and the T-Rex, received red ribbon
  • Brock Malcom's project, How Nutrient Pollution Affects Earth's Ecosystems, received blue ribbon
  • Taeh Soe's project, Cross Country Classifications, received purple ribbon
  • Liliana Wylie's project, Remember or Forget: The Effects of Traumatic Scenes on Memory, received purple ribbon
