Cozad High School is pleased to announce that Mr. Corey Fisher will become the new High School Principal for the 2021-22 school year. The Cozad Board of Education approved his contract at the regular board meeting Monday, February 15th.  Mr. Fisher will be replacing Mr. Bill Beckenhauer who is retiring in June. 

Mr. Fisher has held administrative positions for the past 18 years.  His administrative experience includes Litchfield Public Schools K-12 Principal and Activities Director, Elgin Public Schools K-12 Principal and Activities Director, Ravenna Public Schools 7-12 Principal, and  7-12 Principal at O’Neill Public Schools the past seven years.  

Mr. Fisher’s  hometown is Arapahoe, Nebraska and he graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1992.  Following high school he attended Wayne State College where in 1998 he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in K-12 Health and Physical Education and a Coaching Endorsement. He began his career at Elgin Public Schools in Elgin, Nebraska where he taught and coached for five years.  In 2003 he earned a Masters Degree in Education Administration from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.  

Upon his selection, Mr. Fisher commented, “My wife Andrea and I have enjoyed the opportunity to live and work in central and northern/northeast Nebraska over the past twenty three years and while we have enjoyed some incredible experiences we always envisioned a return to western Nebraska if given the right opportunity for our family.  Andrea and I have two daughters, Briley age 11 and Brenna age 8.  As you already know, Cozad Community Schools has a tremendous reputation of excellence across the state and we are excited about the opportunity for our family to be a part of the school and the community of Cozad.”

Mr. Fisher added,  “I believe that if students can graduate from high school with a blue-collar work ethic, an understanding of accountability and are of positive character they can accomplish the goals they have.”
