Changes to Elementary Student Drop Off and Pick Up

On December 17th, 2018, the City Council voted unanimously to approve a new ordinance that will ensure safer traffic flow for drop off and pick up at the Cozad Elementary School. The ordinance will take effect on January 3rd, 2019.

During the hours listed below, 14th Street in front of the school and C street between 15th Street and 14th Street will be one way and one lane with no street parking.  This includes the angle spots on the east side of the school. Anyone that wishes to park and walk your students inside, will need to park in the Elementary School/Methodist Church parking lot located to the east of the school. Any person picking up or dropping off outside of those hours, for example AfterZone, may park normally.

During the first few weeks they will have police and volunteer parents helping with the traffic flow. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Cozad Mayor, Marcus Kloepping. Eventually the City will ave flashing signs to note the one-way areas.

In conjunction with the change in traffic flow, we will be opening the east door into our building (near Mrs. Woldt's classroom) each morning from 7:30 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. sharp. The front doors will also remain open in the mornings.

ONE WAY HOURS: 7:30 AM TO 8:30 AM AND 3:00 PM TO 4:15 PM (EARLY OUT DAYS WILL BE 1:45 PM TO 2:30 PM).

If you have any questions, please contact Mayor Kloepping at MayorMarcusK@gmail.com or 308-529-0430.
